Payment Information. If you subscribe to a paid vendor plan or take and make payments for orders, payment information is collected and processed through our third-party payment processor, Stripe. We do not store your complete payment card details on our servers.
Content You Create.
- Customer Reviews: Reviews you post about food trucks are public and visible to other users.
- Vendor Content: Photos, menus, and schedule information you upload as a vendor are public and visible to other users.
1.2 Information We Collect Automatically
Location Data.
- We collect your precise GPS location only when the app is open and only if you grant us permission.
- You can use the app without enabling location services, though some features may be limited.
- For Customers: We do not store your location history. Location is used only to show nearby trucks.
- For Vendors: We store the locations you add for your truck events and schedule.
Device and Usage Information. We collect information about your device and how you use the Service:
- Device type and operating system
- IP address
- App usage data (features used, time spent)
- Crash reports and error logs
Cookies and Similar Technologies. Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the Service: create and manage your account, display food truck locations and schedules, and process payments for orders and vendor subscriptions
- Send Notifications: send push notifications about truck locations, schedules, and updates (you can disable these in your device settings)
- Communicate with You: send service-related emails, respond to your questions, and send marketing emails (you can opt out)
- Improve the Service: analyze usage patterns, fix bugs, and develop new features
- Ensure Security: detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
- Comply with Legal Obligations: respond to legal requests and enforce our Terms of Service

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

- Vendor profiles, photos, menus, and schedules

- Stripe: payment processing for orders and vendor subscriptions
- OneSignal: push notifications and messaging
- Novu: notification delivery and in-app inbox
- Resend: email delivery
- Apple Maps and Google Maps: mapping and location services
These providers are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

- Public content (reviews, truck photos) may remain visible but will be anonymized
- Some information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., payment records)
4.3 Marketing Communications
You can opt out of marketing emails by:
- Clicking “unsubscribe” at the bottom of any marketing email
- Changing your preferences in the app settings
You will still receive service-related communications (e.g., account notifications, security alerts).
4.4 Location Permissions
You can disable location access at any time through your device settings. This may limit some app features.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

5. Data Security

Our database and authentication services are provided by Supabase, which implements industry-standard security practices.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we must retain information to:
- Comply with legal obligations
- Resolve disputes
- Enforce our agreements
- Prevent fraud and abuse
7. Children's Privacy
OpenTruck is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us.

OpenTruck is based in the United States and the Service is governed by U.S. law. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

No Sharing of Mobile Data. We respect your privacy. Mobile information and SMS opt-in consent will not be shared with any third parties, affiliates, or partners for marketing or promotional purposes.
